The "Nung Man" at Chinese Sha Tau Kok are very panicky
these days. On the night of the 13th inst they indulged in
a regular fusilade of rifle fire owing, it is said, to some

rumour having got abroad that a gang of Lo Kwan's men were
about to launch an attack.
鄧才仔 On the morning of the 7th inst a man named TANG CHOI TSAI,
in 73 17 was arrested on a boat in British waters at Sha Tau Kok and
afterwards shot. The circumstances briefly are as follows:-

On the morning of the 7th_inst TANG CHOI TSAI, a

rattan worker and a native of TAI MUI SHA, Chinese Territory,

arrived in Sha Tau Kok from Hong Kong. He was on his way home
to get married. At about 11.30 hours he boarded a passage

boat bound for TAI MUI SHA. On this boat was his prospective
mother-in-law, and, pretending to be ashamed at seeing her,
he went below and covered himself with a quilt. The boat then
pushed off, but when only some 50 yards from the shore was

compelled to put back by the "Nung Man" who fired several shots.

登 オ The "Nung Man" then boarded the boat and found TANG CHOI TSAI, whom they arrested and took to the headquarters of the Ating Man
where charges of robbery and extorting money were preferred

The Master of the WAN HING CHOI SHOP was the principal witness

against TANG CHOI TSAI, who was found guilty and sentenced to
be shot, the sentence being carried out at 06.30 hours on the
9th inst.
